before we all run away to vermont, here’s a quick update:
- a truck backed up into john’s car, ruining the next couple of weeks for him.
- betsy passed the last part of her cpa exam, so y’know…woo hoo!
- alex bought a new(er) blazer to replace the one that carried john through high school, college, and beyond. it doesn’t even have a tape deck.
- i have a job and some sort of flu/cold. i only love one of them.
- mama & papa are taking their one big vacation of the year, and they’re already up in vermont. papa called me earlier to see how i was doing and to let me know who won bingo last night. he always knows just what i need to make me feel better.
- the kids & dog will be joining them later this week, to enjoy their long weekend in the rain.
sorry siblings, this is not actually a video of our father playing tricks on one of us as a baby. good to know that you couldn’t tell the difference.
but to be honest, something like this probably happened when we were younger.

On the one hand, I totally get this. On the other hand, no way is my chair upstaging me in the socks department.

seeing as we’ve been doing this for the past few years, i’m curious as to whether the socks remain taut on the legs.
